Default "Pretty dates" works incorrectly

Today is "Wednesday". By accident I looked at my drafts folder just to find out some pending messages there. However what took my attention was that one of the mail date was "Thu 16:30". Definitetly a bug because "pretty dates" a-like feature should always stay in bounds of current week (not the last 7 days or so) and also should only deal with past dates (in this case "Mon, Tue" and maybe "Sunday" but weeks not start on sunday here), plus "today", "yesterday" or maybe "tommorow" too, to avoid confusion like this one.

Another related bug is that if "pretty dates" is enabled you are unable to see what the date really is unless you check message source. Even I displayed that message, "Thu 16:30" was there. My proposal is to, if pretty dates are enabled, to display these only in message list (or allow user to choose).
