Thread: plugin: Dovecot Impersonate

I've created a new plugin that can be useful for user support. It allows you to impersonate another user, thereby seeing their settings, setup, or even helping them configure things, without knowing their password. It lets you login using a master password.

This is a dovecot-only feature and requires you to set up dovecot to support this. Please check out the dovecot wiki at: Authentication/MasterUsers - Dovecot Wiki. The method supported by this plugin is the one where you login using your master account information:

Login: user*master
Pass : password_of_master_user

This will log into roundcube as 'user', but with the password of 'master'.

Remember, be nice. It is a big responsibility to have access to another person's email, and this should be a last resort. I would recommend you always get user approval.
