Default RC and Thunderbird address book sync

Have any of you thought of or even started to create a Thunderbird extension that would sync the roundcube address book with the a local thunderbird address book?

I've been thinking about it and searching the web for ideas, but haven't ran across much for something like this. I did come across http://absync.alternc.org/index.php.en for squirrell mail but that's about it. I think that project could be used a base, but then obviously modified for roundcube.

Is there even an interest for something like this?

If you have any ideas, let me know.
