[0.1beta1] Using external SMTP Server.

Hello,

I'm trying to get RC to send outbound mails to an external SMTP server instead of using localhost. This is the config that I entered into 'main.inc.php'

// use this host for sending mails.

$rcmail_config['smtp_server'] = 'ssl://mail.example.com';

// SMTP port (default is 25; 465 for SSL)
$rcmail_config['smtp_port'] = 465;

// SMTP username (if required) if you use %u as the username RoundCube
// will use the current username for login
$rcmail_config['smtp_user'] = 'name@example.com'; <<< yes the logon is full addy

// SMTP password (if required) if you use %p as the password RoundCube
// will use the current user's password for login
$rcmail_config['smtp_pass'] = '<no-peeking>';

// SMTP AUTH type (DIGEST-MD5, CRAM-MD5, LOGIN, PLAIN or empty to use
// best server supported one)
$rcmail_config['smtp_auth_type'] = '';

I create a message and click send and RC appears to send it fine. No errors on screen. However there is no mail in the 'Sent' folder and the destination email addy never gets the message. Nothing in my mail.log file for the server either.

Am I missing something here?

Figured it out. Since my relay needs the fully qualified email addy, I started to wonder if that was the issue.

So I changed the following:

$rcmail_config['smtp_user'] = 'name@example.com';

to

$rcmail_config['smtp_user'] = 'name+example.com';

Which when I tested it by sending an email to my Gmail account worked. Not sure if this is a specific to my relay provider or not but thought I would share none the less.
