Default Using a secondary (free) site for mail storage

Hello. I hope I have chosen the right section (flames accepted if not!)

This is not so much a request for a "must-have" addition - more a thought for some weekend pleasure for the competent softies.

There seem to be many sites offering 1Gb or 2Gb of storage for free.

Has anyone thought of using this free storage with Roundcube to increase either the allowed quoa, or the number of users without paying astronomical prices for normal webhost space? Nice! Especially for unfunded free sites such as those for small clubs and societies

I seem to remember a script being published on one of the .php users' sites which used "gmai"l account space for extra storage for websites, but I think for content rather than for mail storage.

Bye Chris

PLEASE NOTE CAREFULLY:
The "astronomical prices" comment is no reflection whatsoever on my current webhosting company.
