Roundcube and how to expose aliases for a user
« on: August 18, 2014, 11:35:32 PM »
Hi there. First time posting here.

Am new to managing my own server with Roundcube but it's working well so far. One thing I do not understand though is the Identities (or aliases) and its integration with the mail server. My mail server consists of Dovecot and Exim.

So I have several users already with many aliases to their account. However, these aliases do not show up in Roundcube under the Indenties section. I'm ultimately wanting a user to be able to create and delete their own aliases which would integrate with the mail server for which their account would receive and send mail.

So for example:

User A currently has server-side aliases of: userA, dustin, fedex, and info

I want User A to login to Roundcube and be able to see those aliases above in the Identities section or somewhere else. I want user A to be able to delete an alias or create a new one and I want to ensure it is made to the mail server as well so that the aliases are all in sync with each other.

Is the above possible at all or must aliases only be server-side and made by an admin?
