New email notification to second email address
« on: October 19, 2014, 03:11:45 AM »
Hi,

I'd like to suggest an idea for a plugin,
or a feature for Roundcube.

Many people use Roundcube as secondary
email account (such as a website or business email)

Such is the case for a business I run.
The members of the company would like a email notification
(not browser or desktop based) that they have new email.

EX: Jane has an email in roundcube account as jane@somecompany.com
But her main mailbox (personal) is jane@gmail.com

When she receives email at jane@somecompany.com she
wants an email notification sent to jane@gmail.com saying:
"You have a new message at you some company's email account"

Hope that makes sense.

Anyway, any chance that can be done or put on a to-do list or
someone willing to take one the project for a plugin?

Thanks,
George

Things like this need to be done on the server side, for example with a notify action in Sieve. But it depends what your mail server supports. There are plugins available for Roundcube which allow you to manage Sieve from inside Roundcube.

The reason it should be done server side is because if Roundcube was responsible for doing the work then it would only work when that user had Roundcube open.
Roundcube Plugins: Contextmenu, SpamAssassin Prefs, and moreā€¦
