How to enable SMTP authentication in roundcube

Hi, I want to understand how i can enable SMTP authentication for the users who are coming from internet by doing telnet to SMTP ip. Any public ip users get the access to via SMTP with out authentication thanks. -Gyan

Hi,

This is not a Roundcube issue. Roundcube is an IMAP client. What you want to do is enable SMTP authentication on your SMTP server. To do that you need to check your SMTP server's documentation.

Thanks, i am using the debian linux OS SMTP service. I'ts an open source.

Please guide how i can do the authentication and from whic database?

There are Debian packages for a range of SMTP servers. Like I said before you need to check the documentation for which ever one you have installed (eg Exim or Postfix, to name 2, there are others).
