Ubuntu 16, roundcube as imap, smtp with gmail support
« on: November 16, 2016, 04:00:48 PM »
Hi.
I'd like to have personal email account name@mydomain.com and add it to gmail as alias in order to be able to send/receive mails via browser. Combined mail client on gmail. To clarify: I want to use name@mydomain.com not name@gmail.com.

So far I tried:
installing postfix - went 3/4 way, I was able to add alias to gmail but only sending was working. I could not receive mails on gmail
installing sendmail with/without dovecot - was able to send/receive mails only in console client like mutt, couldn't add alias to gmail. (probably no smtp/imap) But much much less configuration than postfix

And then I heard that roundcube might help me achieve my goal. I went on to install it and stopped on installer because it asks for smtp.

Is it at all possible with roundcube? Where should I start?
If not what should I try ?
