Search contact & Regular expression
« on: February 27, 2017, 06:27:43 AM »
Hi there !

I tried to use regular expression with your contact search engine but it doesn't seem to work. Example of request "student grade3 -exStudent".
In my case, it concerns particularly the exclusion symbol '-' which is very usefull as teacher to keep student contact even if they leave the course. The problem is I often need to select just the one category, the ones who are in the course and sometimes, just the ones who leaved the course years ago.

Thanks for your work !
This feature will definitely make me leave my actual "free" webmail

So you're not using contact groups? E.g. Current student group and past student group. If you're going to tag them with a keyword anyhow, you could move them to a different group.

A dash is not exclusion for a regular expression... but I guess you're looking for search engine behavior like google excluding a word.

Actually... no      :-[
I think it's because with my old Thunderbird application, it was'nt possible to affect more than one group to a contact and I found the search function + keyword an answer to this problem with Zimbra.

Thanks, this feature you tell me give me the right solution !    8)
