Default RC do not find default path after login

Hello,
I installed roundcubemail at the web server and it works fine when starting from the development equipment (Visual Studio 2005). If I run RC from the Web Server it starts and let me login. After the login it do not find the index.php. So I edit the login.php by inserting index.php for the action - for test reason only. And it works - that is why I think that the default path or any other option is not set correct within the php configuration.
The installation is not in the root path that means e.g. \domain.com\rcm. The default file setting for index.php is set within the IIS 5.1 (WindowXP).
As I am not very well known on php configuring I expect the problem within php.ini.
Do you have an idea what's the reason for the problem and how to fix it?

Many thanks for your help

Hans
