Custom Username?

Is it possible to use custom usernames and not the IMAP ones? It's because my webhosts imap usernames are crap so I would like to use the email address as login name.

Ok so after looking at the code I'm using now the alias field in the user table. Works for now - but I don't know if this is the purpose?

That is one purpose of the alias field. You can also use a Virtuser file if you know how to create one properly.
