Spell check doesn´t seem to work.
« on: January 24, 2007, 10:54:41 AM »
Hello,

no matter how many spelling i have in my text (either subject or body) the spell check always says that there are no spelling errors.

Any idea why this is so?

Thanks. Ed.

This can happen for a few reasons. The most common reason, as mentioned in the FAQ (http://trac.roundcube.net/trac.cgi/wiki/FAQ), is that your PHP installation does not have the OpenSSL and Sockets modules enabled.

That said, I have heard of at least one other case where it was possibly related to statically compiling openssl and sockets instead of using modules, and that may have been an OpenBSD quirk.

Either way, check your Apache httpd-error.log and the RoundCube logs for a more detailed error stating what is happening.

Hi,

thanks for your reply. I think that the 1st reason is the one.

I will check it all.

Thanks. Ed.

Hi again,

I can´t believe i didn´t see the FAQ.

Almost all (if not all) of my open issues with roundcube are there.

This product is being developed in a very professional way. Impressive.

Thanks. Ed.

It's OK. I think the FAQ could probably be promoted a little more and maybe structured a little differently. You're not the first by far to have trouble finding it, either.

A couple days ago I tried searching Google to find it with a few common things (like "roundcube spellcheck problem") and it wasn't listed on the first few pages. It is listed now, so I'm not sure what changed.

Anyhow, it's good to hear that your problem is fixed!
