You really don't do this via RoundCube.

You need to login to your control panel (whether it be DirectAdmin, cPanel, Plesk, etc) and go to E-Mail settings and set-up a forwarder and an auto-reply.

Hello again Stevie :)

Many thanks for your reply. What's the "control panel" you are talking about ?

Thanks,

Steve.

It's the control panel normally given via a web hosting company. Like DirectAdmin, Plesk, cPanel, etc.

You won't have one if you're only using a webmail service.

ah ok, many thanks.

I have to make a Webmail choice for my company and I love RoundCube, one of the most important requirements from my chief is the ability of use autoreply option and mail auto forwarding.

Is there any solution directly into RoundCube ?

At the moment, there's no possible way to do this in RoundCube and I seriously doubt there ever will be.

What needs to happen is too complex and just a waste of time when you can do it via the control panel; but no doubt many more requests of this feature will eventually result in it being built.

Hi again Stevie,

The problem is this webmail will be used in a school and we want to give the possibility to the users to active this option themself.

Many other webmail are supporting this option, i'm sad that RoundCube is not supporting that :(

Considering RoundCube is still in Beta. You shouldn't be surprised.

They would most probably add it at a later date. At the moment I can't think of an easy way to impliment this, but it could require pumping all e-mails through an e-Mail pipe (i'm guessing) which in itself is not a good idea anyway.

Time will tell I guess.

Would anyone be interesting in modifying roundcube to support vacation messaging If im willing to sponsor/donate towards the development?

I store my users inside mysql and have a field in th table for vacation message all that roundcube would have to do is select the user based on the currently logged on user in roundcube and update the field with a vacation message. When the field is "NULL" the message isnt used by the mta.

I am currently trying to implement procmail rules, if I can get it to work it will allow you to set an autoreply. There are a few small problems with this implementation (eg. you need to be using procmail and roundcube needs to be able to modify the .procmailrc file) but should be able to work around them.

Daniel Davis

Many thanks razza, I hope someone will try to built it.

Is the auto reply require the webmail to be installed on the same server than the mail server ? I'm wrong ?

Thank you,

Octavius.

I would love to use RC at my company, and the main complaint I am getting from my Boss(s) is that the auto response function is non existent.
Under our setup the user would have to know another URL to access just the auto reply feature in hmail.  I think this is reasonable, but no one else does.
I would love to see this added to RC, and I am sure it would be appreciated.

Cheers

David
