Automatic Host Selection?
« on: September 19, 2007, 04:15:59 PM »
So I finally got my install of RoundCube running. I like it, but I'm not sure it can do what I want.

I'd like to have one generic install of RoundCube that can provide webmail for multiple domains on multiple hosts. But I don't want the users to have to select which host from a list of 150 host names. What I want is the user to log in with their email address, having RoundCube break off the domain portion and connect to the correct host for that domain. AND, it would be nice if it could do that for both the IMAP and SMTP protocols.

Is that possible in the 0.1-RC1 version?

If not, is there a place where I can suggest it as a feature?

Thanks!

You can always suggest the feature to dev@lists.roundcube.net but I'm not sure how well received it will be. Also, this feature isn't currently planned; however, there are similar features like the multiple domain setups. So it's not too far of a stretch to kind of put this into production.

It'd be a pretty good modification of the php code, but it can be done.
