Need some advice to make a choice
« on: May 27, 2015, 06:49:29 AM »
Hi Everyone,

First of all, please be kind to my approximative English, as a native French who hasn't speak in English for a while, it's pretty hard to find every word I think about.

After that, want to thanks everyone that have contribuate to the developpment of roundcube, it's seem to be something really usefull

And so here's the question, i'm looking for a webmail (yeah) to use with an hmailserver.

I'm not the person who will install it , so some thing that seems "logical" are not to me :)

Before asking to install roundcube, i need to know if those things we need is possible, even with existing plugin etc... ?

- Possibility to use different catégory (Like the color case in Outlook) in mail
- Adding folder ( a lot)
- Adding rule (like, "Mail received from xxx go to yyy folder)
- Calendar ?
- Meeting alert (or alert on event defined in calendar)
- Possibility to synchronize states and catégorie between two or more comp. --> 2 people use the same mailbox, the second need to see if a mail is read, put in category or moved in a different folder ?

Think it's all, but it seem already lot enough :)

Thanks again for your time

Not 100% sure what you mean here since I don't use Outlook but maybe this is what you want: http://plugins.roundcube.net/packages/cor/message_highlight

- Adding folder ( a lot)
You can add folders in Roundcube

- Adding rule (like, "Mail received from xxx go to yyy folder)
This depends on the filtering system that the mail server uses. If your using hmail default filtering system checkout the hmail_* plugins from the MyRoundcube project (commercial, not related to the Roundcube project) https://myroundcube.com/myroundcube-plugins

- Calendar ?
There are two calendaring options available for Roundcube, the kolab calendar (open source, build by some of the core developers of Roundcube) https://plugins.roundcube.net/packages/kolab/calendar and the calendar from the MyRoundcube project

- Meeting alert (or alert on event defined in calendar)
Not sure, how alerts work in either calendaring system but I'm sure they have something.

- Possibility to synchronize states and catégorie between two or more comp. --> 2 people use the same mailbox, the second need to see if a mail is read, put in category or moved in a different folder ?
Not sure what this feature would be called, maybe its the hmail_publicfolder plugin from the MyRoundcube project would do what you want.

Not really, as it is much de possibility to "personalise" those enlightment , or "flag"

Ex : I have a large mailbox for people who apply for a job, with outlook i have the basic "Done , to follow , To do" color square, and have added some like "Called, Message leaved on phone" etc...

Not sure to really understand this , the need is, as not everyone will have access to server , we need the possibility that everyone could add their own rules based on their needs

For me mail from Peter Jack must go to "IT intervention" folder
For other those mail could go to "IT Things i don't understand" folder

See?

The Kolab one seem perfect for this, thanks :)

Great, it's perhaps more understable to talk about it as "Reminder for task put in the calendar" :)

I'm not even sure if it is possible, but like the "Flag" i talked about higher in message, the use is like

Me and other Manager have the Apply for a job, mailbox in our , I add the new "flag" "Called but can't work now" for example, will the other managers see those new "flags" ?
