Which plugin for Filters
« on: June 13, 2015, 03:27:21 PM »
Hi!

I'm asking my hosting service to install a "Filters tab" in Roundcube as I saw in different installations, but they don't know which plugin is.
As I've read at this forum is needed a plugin but not sure if it's one of following:

1) Managesieve http://trac.roundcube.net/browser/github/plugins/managesieve
2) johndoh/sieverules  http://plugins.roundcube.net/packages/johndoh/sieverules

The second one seems to be newer but not sure if it's the same.
Just I want to make rules by sender, subject... and move messages to folders...

Can you tell me exactly what I must to tell my technical support to install.

Here you can see an screenshot for an installation with the plugin I want.

Thanks!

Both plugins are actively developed, they differ in some functionality, but generally both use managesieve protocol. So, to do what you want you may use any of them. One important difference is that the managesieve plugin (which is the one from your screenshot) is a built-in plugin, so all your host need to do is to enable it in the config. Note, the server software must support managesieve protocol - that may not be available/configured on your host.

Thanks for your info alec!

I've reported it to my VPS support and told me that as is a cPanel installation and they can't modify it, they will ask cPanel support about it,
