rouncube install
« on: August 09, 2016, 09:13:50 AM »
Hi.  Sorry I am a complete noob and there are stupid questions because I'm about to ask one. 8)

So I've downloaded roundcube and am going through the steps from the Install text file.

INSTALLATION
============

1. Decompress and put this folder somewhere inside your document root
2. Make sure that the following directories (and the files within)
   are writable by the webserver
   - /temp
   - /logs
3. Create a new database and a database user for Roundcube (see DATABASE SETUP)
4. Point your browser to http://url-to-roundcube/installer/

On step 4, I am not sure what it is asking me to do.  I am supposed to open an internet browser and type in "http://url-to-roundcube/installer/" for the address?

Thanks for the help!

You need to go to the url where Roundcube will show up /installer so if your installing Roundcube on your domain root and http://example.com is your domain you'd go to http://example.com/installer to setup Roundcube. If you installing Roundcube in a folder on your domain lets say "mail" you'd go to http://example.com/mail/installer to setup Roundcube. Does that make sense?

Ok I got it. Yes, that makes sense.  I will need to do it later but that answers my question.  Thanks!
