High number of new connections/lack of persistence
« on: February 01, 2008, 02:36:20 PM »
Hi all,

First of all I did dig through this forum and didn't find anything. I just installed rc2 on a system running Postfix w/virtual users and dovecot. Everything went fine with the install, and I can access mailboxes and log in fine, but watching my maillog I see that simply returning from a message to the inbox view causes two connections to the IMAP server which are immediately closed after whatever updates come down.

Is this right?

Sure, I can probably deal with it, but opening a new connection vs. leaving the IMAP connection open has to be inefficient resource-wise. And it's clouding up my logs.

Any help would be appreciated.
