Error with ports 587 and 143
« on: October 15, 2021, 04:40:34 PM »
Hello,
Was installing RoundCube, when I realised during first login that the port 143 and 587 where closed if I didn't simulated them.

How can I make them work properly to make RoundCube usable ?

Thanks
Bye,

OS Version: Debian 9
Roundcube Version: last version

Roundcube is webmail software not an IMAP server.
Roundcube Plugins: Contextmenu, SpamAssassin Prefs, and more…

Ah ok :)
I've been trying to install various SMTP/others mail server, but any worked.

Do you have a idea of the best mail server on Debian 9 ?

I'd say for IMAP probably Dovecot, for SMTP Postfix or Exim but there are lots of reviews and setup guides available online and you need to pick the one that is right for you.
