newmail_notifier plugin not work

Roundcube version is 1.6.1. Other plugins like twofactor_gauthenticator works fine. But the newmail_notifier plugin does not make sound, neither give other notifications.

When I tried visit https://mail.myhostname.com?_action=plugin.newmail_notifier， I saw "SERVER ERROR!Error No. [524]".

Roundcube logs as the following:
[15-May-2023 09:52:54 +0800]: PHP Error: No handler found for action plugin.newmail_notifier in /var/www/html/roundcubemail/program/lib/Roundcube/rcube_plugin_api.php on line 579 (GET /?_action=plugin.newmail_notifier)

I have tried Chrome as well as Edge, they are both the same. Anyone can help me?

I can't find any documentation on this, but I'm pretty sure it's broken. Sometimes I get a notifier quickly, and sometimes I never get a notifier.

Since I upgraded PHP from 7.3 to 8.1, the plugin neither show notification nor makes sound.

The hyperlink is just for testing only. I don't use the plugin like this.
