roundcube mark as mail as read problem

1. why does roundcube mark as mail as read when downloading to other email software

for example, I use windows email software EMclient. Occasionally I go into roundcube and realise everything that has downloaded into EMclient has been marked as read in Roundcube, including mail that automatically goes into EMclients spam folder which is emptied without reading the individual emails. All mail that comes into EMclient is marked unread.

How do I fix this?

2. Also there is no way to delete mail in roundcube withour marking ir read. How do I fix this?

1. Your other email client (EMclient) is likely using POP to download mail instead of IMAP. The way to fix this would be to stop using POP to download emails.

2. You can delete emails without reading them so I'm not sure what you mean by that. Its possible that you have the preview pane turned on so when you select a message it loads in the preview pane marking it as read before you delete it. If you don't want that you can turn off the preview pane.
