Stable - no messages
« on: January 06, 2009, 04:39:09 PM »
We had an earlier version running on a dev box.  We went to setup for the live system and we downloaded the latest version of Round Cube today.

The install went smooth - but no messages display!   I even went as far as to whipe and recreate the database.

Note the messages in the bottom right.  It does log in and see messages - it just wont display them.

Nothing in my apache logs.  Its not that because no errors show up - just a blank message.  Also because php checked out ok.  All the required extensions were installed.

Did you select a message in the message list?

And the logs rosali is refering to are the Roundcube-logs in the folder ./logs

Selecting it does nothing - its marked at 0 bytes when there should be 200+ messages displayed.

There is nothing in the roundcube logs either.  Just a few entires when I typed a password incorrectly.

Last attempt to help from my side - I'm stumped ... Nothing helpful in your IMAP server logs either?

Im convinced since it logs in and displays the right amount of messages - that its with the messages themselves.  Through my searching I've seen problems with HTML messages/Charsets/encoding etc ....

I'm having the same problem. Only 1 message of size 0kb with no subject. It does display the correct # messages in all folders.

When I reverted to 0.2-beta again (which I obviously kept as backup) it worked like before as it should be :-) By the way I used the 0.2-stable install with a clean MySQL db.

----

I checked my mailserver log and did not see any errors, warnings, or other weird stuff.

Where did you get the 0.2-beta from?  Or did you have it downloaded earlier?

Can't find it anywhere on sourceforge.

I tried the -beta from the link you sent.  Something is goofy.  I'll have to start from scratch.

by goofy I mean
Code: [Select]
Warning: Unknown: failed to open stream: Permission denied in Unknown on line 0

Fatal error: Unknown: Failed opening required '/Library/WebServer/Documents/roundcube/index.php' (include_path='.:') in Unknown on line 0

(roundcube box)
OS X Server 10.5.6
Apache 2.2.9
PHP 5.2.6
MySQL 5.0.67

IMAP = EIMS 3.3

All the permissions are screwed from the branches link.  I've been trying to get them right and there seems to be an ongoing fight to get different things to load.

Lates perm error
Code: [Select]
Warning: require_once(program/include/iniset.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: Permission denied in /Library/WebServer/Documents/roundcube/index.php on line 31

Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required 'program/include/iniset.php' (include_path='.:') in /Library/WebServer/Documents/roundcube/index.php on line 31

Something to note.  0.2beta said I needed to turn MagicQuotes off.

Gave up with the permissions and tried 0.2stable again with MagicQuotes off - same deal.

Fun times.

I am convinced its something either I did in the config (but it never worked even with the basic settings) or something inside of roundcube.

I just moved it to a virtual machine I setup yesterday.  Completely different OS (Fedora 10) and sure enough - it did it.
