0.2 stable - mysql update question
« on: January 12, 2009, 05:35:47 PM »
I'm a bit confused by the instructions in the upgrading file for how to update sql. This is the file supplied with 0.2 stable.

Looking at the manual update method, and I am running 1.1.1 right now, so as I understand it, I want to run everything below the heading for 1.1.1, including the changes for 0.2 alpha. But what about the changes for 0.2 beta? It says next to it "InnoDB only". I have no idea what that is, so I do run that command as well? If so, as I understand it, I would run the changes from 1.1.1, 0.2 alpha and 0.2 beta. Is this correct?

Reading the automated update instructions for SQL seems to have an error, or is at least inconsistent with the manual instructions. It says under the auto method to just use the code within the section of your current release. It doesn't say "run everything below your current release..."

Thanks.

Well, I went ahead and did my upgrade. I ran the changes for 0.1.1, 0.2-alpha and 0.2-beta and all seems fine. :)
