is there a plug in for changing passwords?

Hi Guys
I just wanted to know if there is a plug in for postifx+dovecot+mysql and how I installed roundcube was by apt-get install roundcube on ubuntu.

because if there is no plug in I will be switching to squirrel mail.

It depends what version of RC you have. Plugins are only available from 0.3b onwards. I very much doubt you have this since you got your install from apt so you need to use a patch instead.

The version number should be in the top of index.php. Once you've got that just do a search in the forum and see if you can find a patch that does what you want for that version. There are several change password patches and plugins around.

If you've got verion 0.2 you could use this RoundCube Patches & Plugins

ok my question is how do you do the patch?
this is probley the version I got :
my ubuntu server is the 9.04
with roundcube (0.2.1-1)

If you are using the one from my site then there are instuctions on the page. Basically you just need patch installed on your system, the patch file and the code to patch. Try `man patch` if you are unsure what you are doing, that should show you the help.

I still dont know how to do that patch is there a code I need to put into the command line?

yep, thats right. the patch command must be run from the shell. if you have never used it before then i suggest you do a bit of research, find some examples and make a copy of your code and try and patch that before doing the real thing.

If you are using the patch from my site then....
1) download the patch
2) run patch -ul -d /path/to/roundcubemail/ -p1 < /path/to/patch
3) goto /path/to/roundcubemail/plugins/changepasswd/config.inc.php and fix the configs for you database.

if you are using a patch from else where then the args you need for the patch command may be different.

I am telling you there is no plugins directory so this makes it little harder. and my directory is roundcube not roundcubemail.

I've checked the ubuntu link. It looks like it is RoundCube v0.2 ... There is a v0.3beta developing process at the moment. Only the 0.3 branch has a plugin api. Download from RoundCube Webmail ... SVN trunk or wait until v0.3 stable is out.

well then how would I trunk it then? or I might do is just go with squirrelmail since there is no plugin for roundcube 0.2 for ubuntu.

Goto /trunk ? RoundCube Webmail ... Click "Zip Archive" ... Install and be happy ;-)
