Does Roundcube support our needed functions?
« on: December 09, 2009, 07:14:37 PM »
Hey everyone,

we want to create a FreeMail-Service which offers our users the possibilty to create their individual mail-address by choosing from a range of different domains (10-20 or maybe more later on).

An example:

peter@likes-pasta.de

For our webmail client we have the following requirements:

- Server-sided signatures
-> Our signature is being send below the user's mail (maybe including his signature) and can't be removed by the user
- Public registration process
-> User have the possibility to register on their own without any work by the admin, captcha's are important here as well
- Pop3 as well as IMAP should be supported
- German and Englisch are obligatory
-> Other languages would be nice
- Possibility of integrate banners in the webmailer's layout
-> not a must, would be nice to have, but isnt important!
- Supports SSL and TLS
- Common Functions of Freemail CLient
   - Several and individual folders for the mails (Inbox, Outbox, Sent, Draw, etc)
   - Functions: Send, forward, delete, move, etc...just the normal stuff
   - Attachments (files, photos, videos)
   - Virus check (only if it's fast)
   - Smileys ;)
- Possibility to limit the Mail Storage (user gets a mail when more than 80% are full)
- Limitation of the attachment size

In addition to this we need a Mail-Server that works finde with roundcube...any ideas?

So guys, do you tink Roundcube would be the right choice for us? Does it support all the needed requirements?

Thank you a lot for your help!

Cheers

Malte

PS: If this is the wrong section, sorry for that...just move this to the right one, thanks!

hey rosali,

thanks for the demo.

I already checked the availability for the plugins before my post, but i just wanted to assure and get the confirmation of a RC pro that it achieves my requirements.
The only thing i didnt find was the point with the multi domains.

I want my users being able to chose from differnt domains...does C support that or is this a question for the hmail forum?

danke and thx in advance :)

MyRoundcube register plugin supports multiple domains. The demo is setup for single domain registration.

You can also have domain groups. Check registration script of Få en gratis emailadresse på GratisEmail.dk!!!.

Rosali

API Based Plugins - RoundCube Webmail Forum

I think that's the appropriate place.

Ok, I will post my plugins-related questions there.

New Day, new question...do your plugins run with other mail servers like postfix?

My server's OS is Linux, so hmail doesnt work on it... :(

thx

Plugins beginning with "hmail_" are hMailserver specific. Others should be platform independent.

ince I have updated to 0.3 or now 0.3.1 I got a problem sending HTML mails from time to time. After having replied several times to a mail from a sender my HTML mail looses its encoding or format so that it is displayed in text-format with all the tags and so on that are usually used in HTML.
That makes the mail nearly unreadable.

Can anyone tell me why this happens?
