I'm looking for a configuration tweek or plugin which can delete my trashed and junk emails which are older than 30 days.

Is this possible?

It is not exactly what you are looking for, but you could give my summary plugin (see signature) a try. It shows a warning on a welcome page after login, if there are too much messages in trash/junk folder.

see if your imap server can do this. for example dovecot can.

Hi Rosali - nice plugin idea, but you're right it's not really a solution but just an encouragement for the users to delete them theirselves.

Hi dziobak - I'm using dovecot but what do I need to do so that it deletes the junk/deleted emails after a certain period?

The Dovecot Expire plugin is what you are looking for:

Plugins/Expire - Dovecot Wiki

I have it set up to delete messages in Trash and Spam that are more than 30 days old and messages in Sent that are more than 365 days old.

It took a little work to get it set up but it works great!
