A lot of people use roundcube because its bundled with CPanel/WHM setups. CPanel is big into their own skin customizations, and "x3" is typically one of the default skins people go with.
With the latest stable build of CPanel, I've noticed that the X3 skin does not allow users to input text into the quick search box for Internet Explorer 7 and 8 users. (works just fine in firefox ^_^ ). The X3 skin isn't really managed (to my knowledge) by RoundCube, but I just thought I would throw this up in case any other people were pulling their hair out trying to solve the problem.
The issue was fixed by having end-users use the default skin in the settings page under user interface.
