show all the messages from a folder(not a number per page)
« on: September 10, 2010, 03:51:21 AM »
Is there a way to show all the messages from a folder(not a number per page)?
My users want to archive the messages received for a week/month. If the messages for a month is splited between pages they cannot select multiple messages from a page and then go to other page and select remaining messages.
Thanks.

I set $rcmail_config[max_pagesize]=2000. This way I partially solved the problem showing more messages per page. But if I want to archive 2000 messages (I have a folder with mail logs) the browser shows an error:
414: The requested URL's length exceeds the capacity limit for this server.
My URL is:
http://mymail.tld?_task=mail&_action=plugin.zipdownload.zip_messages&_mbox=Errors&_uid=127275,127274,127273,127272,127271,127270,127269,127268,127267,127266,127265...and more
Probably it's a zipdownload issue sending the URL.

Yep that would be a problem with how zipdownload works but honestly why would you want to download 2000 messages? I knew that someone would want to do something like that which is why I was a little weary of adding the option, and why it’s an optional feature. IMO you should not be trying to download any more than may be 25 or 50 messages at once, it’s not a backup tool! Backups should be automated on the server so that they don’t get forgotten. If you need to get a large quantity of messages then I suggest you use a desktop client.

modertors note: i move these posts to a new thread since they are along way off the orginial topic.
