New plugin (beta) : labels
« on: March 24, 2011, 07:01:03 AM »
Hello,

I'm proud to tell you that I've released on SourceForge a new plugin that add to RoundCube a label management like done in Thunderbird.
The plugin can be downloaded at https://sourceforge.net/projects/tagspluginrc/files/

You can flag message with various labels (like Personal, Todo, Work, ...).

This is my first attempt to writting a plugin for RC.

Bug reports, comments and suggestions are welcome.

Enjoy !

Very nice plugin, thank you for that!

With your plugin some of my regular mails display a "[nonjunk]" tag, most of the mails in my spam folder display a "Spam" tag. These tags can be removed via the "remove all tags" menu entry. Is this intentional?

Under IMAP, there is one single flag mechanism. So, any information like "new", "seen", "junk", "forwarded" are IMAP flag associated with the message.
To display any tag manually assigned to the message, I'm testing the message against well-known flag values like "flagged", "seen" and so on.

Certainly I've missed some of them, certainly this may not be the slimest way to do it. Ideas welcome

So if you see some flags between [], these are - at this time - just values of IMAP flags that the plugin didn't know in advance and therefore is not able to hide.

Not bad at all. Here's a couple of suggestions:

1.) While in message list view, it would be nice if there was some visual way of determining which tag had been applied. maybe the tag icon or background could change color to match the tag? (Messages with more than one tag could stick with the uncolored multi-tag icon.)

2.) Would be good to have a way to apply or edit tags while reading the message outside of the preview pane.

Just make sure it doesn't interfere with the workings of the message_highlight plugin :) People may want to use both, and if the tag plugin changes row colors as well, people might get confused.

Hello,

I would like to know if it's possible to add an option who permit the coloration, like in thunderbird.
