SSL Login Problem

I have SuSE 10.1 installed now i have following problem
The IMAP mail daemon no longer allows plain text passwords for unencrypted sessions. Plain text passwords are only allowed in SSL-encrypted sessions.
So i configured the imap daemon like thishttp://en.opensuse.org/SDB%3AEnabling_SSL_Sessions_with_the_IMAP_Mail_Daemon

with outlook and other imap programs i can connect when i say "protected on a dedicated port (tls) 993.

now I've tried severally configs with roundcube but with each i can't login
when i use 'ssl://....:993' in the log file i get the message that the password was plain text.
when i use only the hostname $rcmail_config['default_host'] = 'test.domain.at'; and $rcmail_config['default_port'] = 993; i get the message that "imaps SSL service init from ..." but nothing happens.

what's wrong, plz help me.
