Title: Something causes IE to crash! is it roundcube?
Post by: FatJonny on March 31, 2007, 03:20:28 PM
I have this strange problem. While using roundcube on my Bluehost hosted site, IE will crash and has to be shut down via Task Manager. I thought maybe this was an IE problem, but it does this at home with Vista and IE7 and at work with windows 2000 and IE6, and it never does this with any other site. Note this is only a recent problem, it has been working fine for months. Could this have anything to do with recent IP changes my host made since it only recently started doing this?

I spent a few mins on live chat with their support and they said they had no problems loading my site.

Can somebody else check whether there is a problem? Try logging into a test email account and let me know if your IE crashes?

Something must have been going on with my web host!

It does now, I found out what the problem was. I had hotlink protection enabled and it was linking to a protected image. ::) IE didn't really like that and crashed. I solved the problem by just turning off hotlink protection, or I could have just moved the hotlink image to a non-protected location.

Problem solved. Guest account closed ;)
