Roundcube Discussion / Weird issue with webmail
« Last post by SEOSiteOne on February 27, 2024, 06:50:14 AM »
Hi, I've got a weird webmail issue.

Logging into webmail it is asking for username and password, after entering this it says successful but the page goes straight to roundcube page and asking again for username and password and now, with the same credentials, the page says "login failed".

I've tried it also with different browsers, same result.

I've tried it with deleting the email account and creating it new, same result.

The other email accounts have not this issue, just the one email account.

Question? How can I deactivate the opening of the roundcube straight away? Obviously I can't deactivate the "Open my inbox when I log in" when clicking on the account because it doesn't allow me to. Secondly, why does it say successful and then login failed, but the credentials are correct and also the email software have the same credentials and works, just not the login to webmail for this one account.

Normally if you click on an account webmail/jupiter/ is opening and you can click on the roundcube to open the mail account inbox.

With all other accounts it works fine, just one account, if you click on the account for "check mail" this one account goes directly to roundcube and says "login failed" doesn't matter what credentials I try, nothing works and I can't login to webmail.

Thanks for any help

I faced the same problem. Can't get the Roundcube to use the connection via GSSAPI

I know this thread is quite old, but for web searchers hitting this: I think this is not possible with the current version of the plugin.

I tried the same as you and was also not successful. I therefore had a quick look at the source code at

as far as it seems the fieldname where the data is read from the directory is hardcoded. So even if sAMAccountName is used to search the user because of the config option, there is no config to set a field mapping for reading the data you want from found Active Directory users (like: get the name from X, get Y from Z).

Or did I miss the part where the fieldmap array from $config['ldap_public'][ .. ] gets used?

Release Discussion / Re: Roundcube Webmail 1.4.9- Contact list is now empty

Contacts are stored in the database that is setup for Roundcube. Most likely the default host has changed and a new user records has been created for each user.

Thank you for your quick reply
- I am a little surprosed that our email provider also stores our 'contacts' - however, I will forward an email to them to check.
Cheers

You will need to contact your email provider for support. Roundcube is not a service, it's open source webmail software your email provider is using to provide you with webmail access to your email.

Hi As a New Zealand non-profit communtiy based club we have been using roundCube for years.
Today I logged on after about 5 days and we now have a new 'look'  - we are now on "Roundcube Webmail 1.4.9.
This was all well as I could see my emails, but SADLY, all of our contacts have gone.

All of our members contact details are no longer available
- email address, contact phone number, subscribtion type.
- We alway send to members as BCC, so there is no referrence in our 'sent' items

All of our club contacts are no longer available
- other camera clubs
- judges - and we send print to them so we no longer have their addresses

Any occassional visitors, their email address that we stored in our Contacts.

Is there anyway you can retireve our list of contact please?  Preferred to our current version, or even a CSV would be sufficient.

We can still send/receive emails to/from info@marlboroughcameraclub.org.nz

Roundcube is open source webmail software your email provider is using to provide you with webmail access to your email. It is not a service. Please contact your email provider for support. Thats probably the same people who host your website.

Pending Issues / committee emails

Hi all (new here) We had Roundcube setup for committee emails by one committee member who is no longer on
the committee & not responding to any requests for login details for Roundcube so we can add or remove others from emails.
Any help or ideas to get around this would be appreciated.

Phil.
