Title: Tango Icon Set
Post by: ipfreaks on September 06, 2006, 03:31:14 AM
hi,

i want to ask which iconset comes with roundcube? some icons looks like tango icons.
i ask, because i want to do a new iconset for roundcube. i already have an iconset done for myself,
but i don't know if the icons are "free" for community-use. and now i'm working on a tango-icon-theme
which looks a little bit different from the original iconset. if you're interest in this icons theme, i could
upload it until friday with an preview image.

edit:

Download: tango-iconset for 0.1-beta2 (http://roundcubeforum.net/forum/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=562.0;attach=174)

I've also been working on a Tango icon set for RoundCube. Since Tango doesn't have all the needed icons I've used some from the Tango icon set for Thunderbird. I haven't heard back from the author about the licence though. The Tango icons are distributed under the Creative Commons Share Alike licence IIRC. RoundCube is GPL, so I guess the graphics are as well?

ipfreaks: What icons did you use except the standard Tango icons?

hi,

yes, the tango icons are under the cc-license as i know. i meant my other iconset which i've done for myself only. there i used icons i found on the net somewhere :/ for the tango iconset i used the official tango icons i found. as you say, some icons are missing and i consider which icons i should use instead... maybe i use adequate icons instead...

this is how the icons look like in the "main window"

these are the icons in the addressbook:

and if you write a new mail it looks like this:

and this is the sidebar:

the buttons (1. replied mail; 2. unread mail; 3. read mail):

not perfect... i miss some tango icons which match correct... :(

comments are welcome ;)

here it is :)

- create a new directory in /skins/ i.e. /skins/tango/
- copy your files from /skins/default/ to /skins/tango/ (only the files in "default" are needed not the directories "images", "buttons" and "icons")
- upload the directories from the zip-file to your new /skins/tango/ directory (overwrite the image files if you copied the complete default skin directory before)
- change your main.inc.php config file to the new skin-directory
- login in roundcube

so if you have own changes in your default-skin they will not be touched. (i.e. logo etc.)
and you don't like the skin you can change back to the default skin by editing the main.inc.php back to "original"

it would be nice to read some comments... ::)

iPfreaks,

I'm looking at the image of the sidebar that you have provided on 06/09/2006.
I can see that you have folder called friends, and it seems that there is subfolder under that (where the name have been blurred).
Could you confirmed that RC supported subfolder?
I would like to use this functionality but can not find the option to create a subfolder.

Thanks in advance for your help.

It depends on the folder delimiter set on your IMAP server.

Try friends/friend1

or friends.friend1

Thank you, I installed it, it looks great as expected, but there are several icons that have little to do with the action they're assigned to. For instance, "Compose" has an open letter, while it should have a pencil with a letter. The "Delete" icon has the same icon as the "Trash" icon, so you don't know if clicking will delete the message or display messages that are in the trash. The "Back" icon is a house instead of a left arrow. The "Save message" icon is a "Download" icon instead of a floppy disk. The "Home" icon is a directory instead of a house ???

This look nice.  I don't know what tango is, but I tried these icons out and I think you did a good job.  I'm not sure if I like them any better than the default, but it's nice to have a choice.
