Title: authentification failure

Hey!
I cant seem to get my email to send:
[31-Jul-2006 17:05:46 +0200] SMTP Error: SMTP error: authentication failure
 in /homepages/35/d90247179/htdocs/tdkyd/email2/program/steps/mail/sendmail.inc on line 230

my server does require authentification, but i odnt know how to set it to wor .
i have tried %u and %p for the settings as well as the actual username and passwords themselves
the mail seems fine when i send it from my squirelmail, but i liked the look of this software, so i thought i would try it.

Any ideas?

Do you login with "username" or "username@domain.tld" ?

both dont seem to work
tried the username and i have tried the email address

if i sent using php instead of smtp, do i lose any functionality?
