Title: secure login possible?
Post by: toto99x on November 13, 2006, 02:46:55 AM
A quick 'bravo!' to the dudes who developed Roundcubemail; it rocks! After some teething trouble, mainly 'cos I know PostgreSQL much more than MySQL (which wouldn't be difficult...), and thus had a bit of trouble getting it up and running.. roundcubemail has been giving sterling service for almost a month. No problems whatsoever! It's on an old IBM desktop machine running FreeBSD 5.5-RELEASE, and has around 150 users. It's not the fastest webmail server you'll find, but then I don't have the sort of money that yahoo or MSN has, to throw at hardware.  ??? Again, a top-notch piece of software, and you guys should be proud!

Now that everything's up and running, I quite fancy setting up secure login, like yahoo France has on their webmail service...

'cos if I understand it correctly, passwords are currently sent over the wire in plaintext.

Is there an easy way to set this up, or is a case of putting it in the 'wish list' ?

Thanks.

Setup your webserver to redirect to https. Just shake google for https redirects. Here's a link on the forum dealing with this.
