thanks for the feedback guys!

i upgraded to the newest SVN on my server and had to add some graphics and change some css - will most likely update the theme once a new version has been released for sure.

thanks to the SVN and developers out there. improvements are rather nice ;)

i am a 3D nut and am thinking on making all custom icons and stuff for my next theme... once i get the time (busy partying and getting ready for next semester soon).

I used this theme with the previous beta1, when I did the upgade I did it from scratch blowing away my BlueTabby theme. I wanted to ask here before I tried BlueTabby with the newly released beta2.

Is this version of BlueTabby compatible with beta2?
Title: Re: BlueTabby
Post by: digitalslave on August 14, 2006, 10:40:41 PM
i have not upgraded to the new beta as of yet - been building a new rig and looking at college classes. i will however hopefully sometime this week upgrade and make the necessary changes... i do know that it was not 100% compatible with the svn releases as new graphics were added and css had changed somewhat.

i will post back when upgrades and changes are complete - stay tuned!

well i'm still waiting for parts for the new computer so i went ahead and updated the theme - looks like others were awaiting the release too as the old theme was killing their update.

made the background a very light blue in this release as well - hope you like!

Someone mention the icons looking great. My only problem with the skin is that the icons at the top don't match the theme, they look like the default icons sitting on a blue tab, which makes the tab look a bit hokey. So is there something else I need to do other than drop the folder in the skins directory and modify my main.inc.php file to point at the BlueTabby directory for skins?

You not doing something right, your icons should look like this:

Yes, that looks much better. I figured it was something I didn't do correctly.

Any idea what it is I'm doing wrong?

Anyway, I'll take a look again and see if I can figure it out. The default theme ain't so bad so I'm in no particular hurry.

All I did was unzip the directory into the skins directory and rename the theme in the main.inc.php file.  Are you sure you have refreshed your browser so that the new icons are downloaded? Maybe even try emptying your cache.

1) Love the updates! absolutely loove the new theme. It is way easier on the eyes than the default RED is. and besides, being red-green color blind doesn't help either!

2) What parts you after?

What browser are you using? It doesn't seem to be a global error as you can see in the screenshot at the top of this page. Could just be a browser CSS interpretation issue that the creator would need to know about.

Hello, I need some help installing this skin. What I did is that, I downloaded the .rar file and unzipped it. Then I uploaded to my roundcube skins folder, with the default folder next to It., I edit my config file main.inc.php and I added /skins/ BlueTabby/.
I chmod +777 the folder BlueTabby. But when I login, I don’t see any icons on the top and the skin looks only on gray/blue color. However, the default skin works fine for me, and I am able to see all the icons when I set the skin theme as default. Any help will be appreciated!

If you look on the website for the author, he says it is only supported for the beta. I just installed it, although the images look fine the preview pane doesn't work and when you compose a messaged in html there are no borders for your compose window. I like the icons so I just use them.

yes this theme will be updated for releases - each snapshot is different and would require changes everyday for the changes in css and new feature support :(

I have just updated to 468 and the theme I posted above still works for me, I have just combined it with the RC Blue theme for a nice gentel theme, I need to write the thanks etc for the icon sets, graphics and such like before I will post it.

Here you go the combined BlueTabby, RC_Blue and Tango Icon theme.

But all I get with SVN 462 is a "database connection error" instead of the login screen... :-(

Title: Re: BlueTabby
Post by: fregster on February 06, 2007, 12:44:24 PM
does changing your theme back to the default stop the DB error? I can not see how the skin could cause the error, but it is not impossible!
Title: Re: BlueTabby
Post by: Manfred on February 06, 2007, 12:56:18 PM
Yes I did and the error went away. Then back to yours, error came back.

Just minutes ago I tested with SVN 468: exactly the same thing. No idea what could cause this...

Meanwhile I'm back to 462 as the 468 is pretty much useless: Drag'n drop of messages to folders does not work anymore. Messages moved with the dropdown list don't show up in the destination folder...

I have been using the BlueTabby theme for a couple of months. Two problems I have found when using IE7:

1) Top icons (Email, personal settings, address book, logout) are slightly cut off at the bottom.
2) Spell check doesn't work in IE7. "An error has occured on the server. Please try again later."

I'm not sure if the second error is specific to BlueTabby but since I haven't seen any mention of it in the main forum I thought I'd check here first. Spell check continues to work fine when using Firefox and IE6. There is nothing added to the log on the server.

Thanks for any suggestions.

I love this theme but there's a few little graphics issues I thought may have been fixed in the latest release ;)

When you click a button the icon changes to the default theme's image_sel image rather than a BlueTabby one. So I made my own. I just used Photoshop and added a #999999 colour overlay with a 50% opacity to all _act images and saved them as _sel images. I've attached them to this message as a zip file.

The other thing I wanted to see was some transparency around the search bar, since I have changed the background and noticed the existing image had a white background rather than a transparent one. So I created a new image and have attached it in the zip file. Just upload and replace your existing images.

BTW... the theme works fine for me in IE7. No spell checker errors, and the cutoff icons problem can be solved with the fix on these forums:

Replace #taskbar in common.css with this:
Quote
#taskbar
{
 position: absolute;
 top: 0px;
 right: 0px;
 width: 600px;
 height: 37px;
 background: url('images/taskbar.gif') no-repeat top right;
 text-align: right;
 white-space: nowrap;
 z-index: 2; padding-left:0px; padding-right:24px; padding-top:10px; padding-bottom:10px
}

To correct the search bar displaying in IE7 do this:
Quote
In the skins/default/mail.css I commented out the lines 534-538, and everything worked fine.
/*
html>body*#quicksearchbar { background-image: none; }
html>body*#quicksearchbar a { top: 5px; }
html>body*#quicksearchbar #quicksearchbox { width: 180px; top:0px; right: 1px; left: auto; }
*/

Both of these fixes are here: http://roundcubeforum.net/forum/index.php?topic=910

thanks for the new updates- i didnt have much time to slap it together and the image only shows up for me if you hold the button down on the graphic and if youre doing that i think you may love your email too much :) the mail.css doesnt seem to be a problem as those lines arent there in rc-1?

again thanks for the conversion as well i havent installed imagemagik since ive upgraded my ubuntu box ;) and have been busy fighting jsps on a debian server (the debian guys need to leave their packages alone and stop changing things that are standard on every other distro >:( )

heh i thought the same thing when making the main tab - it fades to white but for simplicity sake im going to leave it in the originating format. now when i make another theme i may end up utilizing all pngs ;) well i guess except for animation bits. but im glad im not the only one who notices this stuff ;)
Title: Re: Tabby!!!
Post by: tofinoguy on June 03, 2007, 09:47:13 PM
Thanks for the update - it works with IE7 out of the box and my strange spell check error from the previous version is gone. However, I've noticed that in the new version, the number of new messages is no longer displayed in the Title of the page. This was useful so as to just open it up, keep it minimized and scan the Windows taskbar for new mail. Not sure if this is a Tabby or RC1 problem.

Edit: I had re-enabled caching as I was to understand that problem had been fixed. By disabling it again this I once again get the new message count in the title bar. So really this had nothing to do with Tabby.

tabby is for OFFICIAL releases only. isnt preview pane just one variable why does everyone complain about this - just go change it?? tabby isnt any great change just updated graphics (basically default). sadly because of lack of innovation and there are still problems with roundcube that are just annoying ive been looking into other solutions - as of yet i havent found one that i like so im still here... who knows what the future will bring.
Title: Re: Tabby!!!
Post by: bpat1434 on December 01, 2007, 08:27:33 AM
Preview pane is not just one variable. You have to have it in your theme, and also support whether it's there or not with the CSS. I'm sure it's just a 10 minute fix though.

This is a good reason why themes should only be for official releases and not each build. Much easier to make sure things work.

just wanted to say thanks to all those using tabby and those that have sent me personal email with suggestions and comments - its was fun creating and maintaining tabby. unfortunately roundcube just never matures and has been stunted for some time now. moving on to greener pastures and some technology closer to my heart (yes java gag heh). switched to inTouch at claros.org so i will no longer support tabby. best of luck in all that you do guys - who knows maybe ill be back someday!
Title: Re: Tabby!!!
Post by: bpat1434 on February 22, 2008, 07:22:14 PM
It's a shame to hear you're leaving Tabby behind :( RoundCube isn't really stunted, it's more of a time thing. No-one gets paid for it. I do know that development is still progressing though. Matter of fact, I was just contacted earlier this week by Thomas about the project. So it's still progressing, it's just slow due to time constraints.

There are only 2 more tickets left (one of which I know is probably 75% done) and the other should be right along before 0.1 stable is released. So the project has been going, I just don't think they've been releasing often. Something that might need to be changed for future releases ;)
