Title: no images showing up anywhere...
Post by: pensive612 on September 05, 2006, 05:15:52 PM
Hey everyone,

I just installed and am very excited to get this up and running.

but i can't see any images on any of the pages. (login, mail, etc...)

i have tested them and they are there... even though, it says I have no permission to access them.
I verified the path. 'skins/default'

anyone have any advice?

thanks in advance...

Can you view them if you point your browser directly to an image?

like this: http://www.yourdomain.com/roundcube/skins/default/images/roundcube_logo.gif

obviously yourdomain.com/roundcube will be specific to your install and your domain.

If you can't view the roundcube logo, then you probably have permissions for those icons setup wrong, where your webserver software doesn't have permission to view those images.

thanks for the reply.

i did try to access them directly. still getting the 404 permissions error. i've changed the permissions up and down. no change.
even uploaded a separate image to the folder. same result. and uploaded a new theme. same result.

i'm thinking this might be host related... does that sound right at all?

404 is not premission error, its "file not found"

it was a 403 error. Forbidden. and says an additional 404 error occurred. even though the file does exist and permissions are accessible.

but thanks for the correction....

figured it out, incase anyone else has this problem. had 'hotlinking' turned on from my host control panel.

prevented access to the files. just had to add the subdomain to the list of okayed domains.

hope that helps someone in the future.

That helped immensely.
