Title: Question about 2fa Plugin
Post by: uran235 on November 18, 2019, 12:31:34 PM
Hello,
I am using the 2fa Plugin and it works fine. But does it makes sense to use it? Because if I get my mails, e.g. k9 or thunderbird - no question about 2fa-code appears, ofcourse as its not enabled in dovecot.
So, I just wonder if it makes sense to use it then.
Thank you

Any 2FA plugin you use with Roundcube needs to work in conjunction with the rest of your mail system. By that I mean that if you want to allow IMAP/SMTP connections to your mail server and not just logins via Roundcube webmail then you should look at things like app passwords - allow your "real" mail password only to be used via Roundcube because you are using 2FA there while other clients, which do not support 2FA, use app passwords.
