Title: After clean install, can I copy user identities from other installation?
Post by: guisasso on December 18, 2013, 10:11:42 AM
I had many problems upgrading from version 0.8.6 to 0.9.5, so I decided to go to a new installation in a different folder.
I have made all my changes and everything is up and running no problem.
Only question I have is about the identities that I had setup for all the users with signatures and stuff, how can I get those back?
Also, the address book as well, I can import it, so no big deal, just wondering if there's a different way to do it.
Thanks

You have to move them from the old database, it would be better just to upgrade the old database.

I agree with Scott. When I do a clean install (which I do for every version), I always make a copy of the old database for the new clean install, and upgrade that. Doing it that way, I can always roll back to the old version if something goes wrong, but all my users' settings and contacts come to the new version.
