Title: Problem w IMAP
Post by: EdmilsonBee on June 06, 2017, 03:43:07 PM
Hey there I'm new at this type of software...
I want to install Roundcube but I can't login because it gives me a error about IMAP " The connection to the IMAP Server failed :(
I use as a Guide a video that's on Youtube ....
I use WampServer, hmailServer Like in the video...I don't know if I can put the video here but I will say the name  " WAMP Server - Wordpress - hMailServer - Roundcube Setup "
I did almost everything the same as it is in the video!
This isn't much much information!  I know :(

Check out the hMailServer and see about testing the SMTP and IMAP functions of it first. If you were on a Linux box I'd say test the IMAP functions with telnet or an openssl client but not sure if that is part of your Windows box or not.

What IP are you using in your Roundcube config for the IMAP server. Coz on that screen it says "Localhost is currently banned in the IP ranges"

It is 127.0.0.1

But I already fix that disabling the ban option!

The MX Records thing is the main I guess !?

ok. is there anything in your hmailserver logs at all when roundcube tries to connect? have you tried with another client or with telnet?

it seems like the issue is with your imap server rather than roundcube so you might be better off in teh hmailserver community.

not having an mx record means you can't receive mail from that outside world but it has nothing do to with imap.
