Title: Uncontrolled Down Time
Post by: bpat1434 on August 16, 2006, 09:42:19 AM
Sorry for the unknown amount of downtime we just experienced. A disk on the mySQL server failed. Due to it being a RAID server, no data was lost (Yay!!!) and they are working to resolve the issue. Until such time that it's resolved, the forum may be slow and even unresponsive.

There is no expected time for the return of normal function. We'll have to just wait for it.

Here is the info from the host:
Quote
Urgent Maintenance (mysql)

A disk has failed on the mysql server. The system is protected with RAID therefore no data is lost and the system is running with decreased performance. We are currently replacing the disk - while this work is performed the server may be slow or unresponsive.

We apologize for the inconvenience.

Uh... at 12:11pm EST one of the tables for SMF became corrupt. Apparently a lot of you saw it as there were 80 some pages of errors. Sorry for that. I'm in the process of moving homes, and as soon as I saw it, I was working to fix it. All should be well now.
