Title: Annother POP3 question
Post by: creativehavoc on March 01, 2007, 12:56:50 AM
I am hoping this POP3 question hasnt yet been asked... I did search and found close results, but nothing exact.

My web host uses POP3 accounts... however... with PHP, we have imap stuff installed... does that mean i will be able to use this program? if not are people allowed to point me towards a similar program that will work for me?

Problem is, the current web mail system on my host will get all its sent mail marked as spam... so i need to fix this (and the users have trouble setting up outlook and friends)

I'm not sure what you mean by "with PHP we have imap stuff installed". IMAP is IMAP and doesn't care if you access it from PHP or Outlook.

It's unlikely your host provides Pop3 and not Imap. I'm not sure how RC works with Pop3 account but if you can get the name of your Imap server you are set.

If all mail sent from your current webmail site is marked as spam, I wouldn't assume RC will be different. If this webmail system is provided by your host I would contact them about this. There is something about these e-mails that makes them appear as spam. It may be because they are formated as HTML, it may be in the headers, or it may be that your host has been identified as a source of spam.
