Title: How to configure password plugin for use with Dovecot/Postfix?
Post by: StorWalle on January 31, 2018, 01:41:02 PM
Hi!

I have Googled and searched in this forum for information on which driver to use for the password change plugin that comes with Roundcube, but I do not understand anything clear from reading the README file linked to the plugin and nor any clear guidance from other related topics either.

Anyone that has got this working? There should be since this is one of the most common configurations, or...?

I would appreciate an example config if posible.

Many thanks!
Michael

Knowing the IMAP/SMTP server is not enough. There is nothing in either the IMAP or SMTP protocols for changing passwords. To use the password plugin you need to know where your IMAP user credentials (hopefully SMTP is using the same) are stored. Then you then look to see if there is a driver for that backend in the password plugin. For example if your user creds are stored in a database you can use the sql driver.
