Title: Changes on the horizon!!

Well, I hope everyone is having a fantastic summer (for those of you in the US, stay cool ;) ) or winter/spring/fall. Just so you know, I've been hard at work adding some functionality to the forum. It's basically ready to be deployed now, so it's time to update it ;)

Portal
I will be adding a custom portal for use with the site. This was requested a long time ago by Prasad007, and it's pretty-much been done for a while, I've just needed time to test it. So as it seems like it's working okay, and not really slowing anything down, I'm going to implement it ;) So when you come to the site, you won't be greeted with the typical list of boards to view, but a slightly different layout ;) I'll let it be a surprise.

This update will require the board to be in Maintenance Mode so that no-one can view, post, or do anything on the forum. It shouldn't take long for me to fix everything, so the downtime should be about an hour. But when the forum does go down, it should be no longer than an hour.

Why work on SMF ? Lets make RC user friendly like Gmail :)

Finished the updates!!! Took almost an half-an-hour but they're done. We now have a portal to work with ;) Nothing special, but it works.

Had a couple aesthetic issues with the images.. but fixed them just now. So all should be well....

The portal is just perfect now :)
Looks just great.

Maybe this change would be good to implement,
When a user logs in, you see something like this on the forum page,
first 2 lines are links-
Show unread posts since last visit.
Show new replies to your posts.
Total time logged in: 4 hours and 17 minutes.
And ofcourse your avatar.
Maybe this could be added above the line,
Hey, Prasad007 You have 0 messages, 0 are new
So as to look more integrated with the forum.

The new replies to your posts are already listed once you log in. If there are new replies to subscribed topics, they should show up above the 'recent topics' list.
