Title: Possible access local maildir mails instead imap?
Post by: prodigy7 on October 15, 2020, 01:39:58 PM
Hello everyone,

like many others probably, I use my cell phone to access my mails via IMap. I open my Thunderbird installation one or two times a year to download and archive the mails and to free up space in my mail account. Usually I don't have to access the downloaded mails so often. But what I'm asking myself now is: Is it possible to easily adapt Roundcube to access a folder with the mails in mailbox format locally instead of via IMap? I'm interested in being able to search in rare cases in the structure I created in Thunderbird and in the best case open it without Thunderbird. Basically I only need a viewer for my archive and my thought was that Roundcube itself should have good preconditions for that.

Roundcube doesn't support that out of the box but from a framework sense could be built to do that since it has all of the mail viewing parts already.
