latest SVN Builds from the Roundcube trac server (http://trac.roundcube.net/trac.cgi/browser). Always’s check the trac server to
see witch version you need (branches/tags/trunk), then you can download the file at
the following download source (http://roundcube.tobix.org)

I wouldn't upgrade to the latest SVN (273) as it has some problems.
But if you want to, the changes in main.inc.php are quite simple. Just use the main.inc.php.dist file in the directory, and rename it to main.inc.php . Then fill out everything (with help of your old config file) and save it.

Are you saying that I am better off using 269? If that's the case then I'll wait for new svn version and hopefully with no more bugs :)

But I am 100% sure that it is the SVN snapshot 276.

Hi my first post here. Just installed Roundcube yesterday. So far I love it!

I'm writing because I have such a basic question but could not find any answer here.....

What is SVN release?? Who releases it and how is it different from Latest Release (Currently 0.1 Beta2)?? Different features, different codes etc...? it seems SVN releases are being updated very regularly, but where can I find changelog? I want to know exactly which code is updated for each releases because i'm a php programmer myself and will be editing RC on my own too.

I installed 0.1 Beta2 and SVN (286??) both, but have not noticed a signle difference ... (i know i have only spent a few hours so far)

Thanks in advance

cheers

SVN releases tend to be there mostly for the benefit of developers but you may download them if you wish.

They're usually added when some code is changed, but be warned as that code may not always work or may contain bugs ;)

Changelogs are not usually issued as there are so many SVN releases it would be impractical.

Download the last build from the forum and then download every svn build from trac server (.zip file) ...
This way you create youre own nightly build :)
Title: Re: Unofficial SVN Snapshots
Post by: HonestMike on November 22, 2006, 05:56:52 PM
How do you make your own nightly build? I've searched around and read many threads but seem to have missed it. I tried using a download manager to snare the entire SVN, but because the SSL cert is expired none of them will grab all the files. Any help on solving this would be appreciated, thanks!

but at your svn checkout there is a folder ".svn" in all programm folders of RC ...
is this a problem???

When you do a svn checkout it creates a folder called trunk with sub folders. Roundcube lives in the roundcubemail folder.

Rar is an extension for a file zipped with winrar. You can download winrar http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm to exrtact the file. Winrar is nice because it also will do tars which is what linux uses to zip files.

Hi,

I wrote a very simple script.
Every 2 hours, my server will check, if a new version available.

Please, have a look: http://roundcube.tobix.org (http://roundcube.tobix.org).

The latest version is 440.

Have fun,
Tobi

I would like to do the same. Would you be willing to share your script?

Sure, have a look at http://roundcube.tobix.org.
Both files, rc_svn and rc_svn_version, you need.

Copy the files to a directory and do "chmod 700 rc_svn".

Greetings, Tobi

Very nice thank you, however the command svn info https://svn.roundcube.net/trunk returns svn: 'svn info' only works on working copy paths, not URLs  Any ideas?

nice script but two things:
you can replace
Code: [Select]
 find . -name .svn -exec rm -Rf \{\} \;

  echo ".tar.gz erstellen..."
  tar cfz /home/me/www/roundcube.tobix.org/$version_neu.tar.gz roundcubemail
with
Code: [Select]
 echo ".tar.gz erstellen..."
  tar --exclude ".svn" -czf /home/me/www/roundcube.tobix.org/$version_neu.tar.gz roundcubemail

why do you delete trunk folder ? svn up puts less load to the server

daashag, what version of svn are you using ?
svn, version 1.4.2 (r22196) works fine :
Code: [Select]
svn info https://svn.roundcube.net/trunk
Path: trunk
URL: https://svn.roundcube.net/trunk
Repository Root: https://svn.roundcube.net
Repository UUID: 208e9e7b-5314-0410-a742-e7e81cd9613c
Revision: 441
Node Kind: directory
Last Changed Author: Stiwi
Last Changed Rev: 441
Last Changed Date: 2006-12-30 01:09:25 +0200 (L, 30 dets 2006)

@yllar:
Thank you, yor're right!

Now it's working better and faster. The new script you can find at http://roundcube.tobix.org

I'm using svn version 1.3.2.

Greetings, Tobi

Happy New Year, folks,

here is the latest one, rc_444: http://roundcube.tobix.org/444.tar.gz

one more thing: there should be trunk.tar.gz that always contains current trunk - could be useful for scripts

@yllar: What do you mean?
The latest archive on my server is the same as the latest trunk, isn't it?

Ok here is a silly question I install svn versions and follow directions on what to replace. Why when I replace files in programs and skins my version does not work most of the time it won't allow sign. When new index.php is replaced then most of the links won't work so I always go back to my last working version. I have svn ver 423 working with somehow without spell check. What could I be doing wrong?

since version 423 I am unable to update to a new svn version.

Did you do an update of your config.inc.php?
And, did you do an update of your mysql tables?

The way I upgrade is create a new installations of RC. I have a script that copies my skins and /config directory over to the new installation. Then I test the new installation and when all is good I copy the new installation over the current working copy of RC.

but then you have to know what rev is last. if there is also trunk.tar.gz then it's always the latest and you don't have to guess how many changes there has been after last dl and whats the number in archive name

Ok, now we
*have one .tar.gz with the latest revision number as the name
and
*one _latest.tar.gz, which is always the latest RC revision.

Thank you, yllar!

Made a update to the opening to post to include to download source hosted by Tobix (thanks ;) ).

//

Please pay attention that the script from Tobix downloads both branch/trunk versions,
so alway's check what version you need by looking at the trac server !!!
Title: Re: Unofficial SVN Snapshots

so for example the 460 is the current address book branch and the 459 is the current svn branch am i correct? (in tobixs download list)

at present are all svn patches applied to the addressbook branch aswell?
Title: Re: Unofficial SVN Snapshots
Post by: Reload on January 16, 2007, 05:35:21 AM
Youre right, 460 is the branch on the moment, and 459 is the trunk.

No, the branch and trunk are different versions !
Title: Re: Unofficial SVN Snapshots
Post by: oxygens on January 16, 2007, 10:38:42 AM
so if the branch is a different version, all the important patches that get applied to the svn wont be applied to the branch is that not a bad thing?

Currently there is only one security fix and it is included in both....
Title: Re: Unofficial SVN Snapshots
Post by: oxygens on January 17, 2007, 06:40:33 AM
Im not sure if you understand my question.

The SVN has continuous bugfixes applied to it all the time which are not in the latest beta or the address book trunk.

So im guessing when the SVN has all its problems sorted it will be the next release but how can the address book one every be released if it will have the bugs which have been/will be fixed in the svn.

Does that make sense?

Hmm... OK, then I have maybe a silly question! What is that, what I can find under https://svn.roundcube.net/trunk/roundcubemail/. I read some posts at this morning and saw some guys talking about 640. So I looked at svn.roundcube.net... and on my last visit, there was 587.
And some more: What is the difference between
  * branches/
  * tags/
  * trunk/
and for what purpose do I use it.
Title: Re: Unofficial SVN Snapshots
Post by: flosoft on June 15, 2007, 04:05:39 AM
Revision 620: /trunk/roundcubemail

That is the most recent one.

But use this link. The most recent SVN version is 614 ( http://trac.roundcube.net/trac.cgi/browser/trunk )
