Have installed on E-Smith box with php 5.16 mysql 5.022
It works fine but it prompts for user name and password in a windows box then after authenticating goes to the roundcube login screen.. Would just like to go to the roundcube login screen. Have tried https:// nothing I change in the .conf seems to make a difference..

check your .htaccess files
This has nothin to do with roundcube - but is an issue on your server. Somehow the root directory or roundcube directory is protected.
ps. I also have this set-up. But only because I want this - I use a subdirectory for testing purposes (and want it protected)
