Title: After update to 0.9svn users "alias" doesn´t work

Hi,

i updated my RC installation to the 0.9 svn today because i have big problems with 0.8.1 (closing the window, drag& drop doesn´t work,...).

now AFTER the update i can´t log in?!!

I get this error: [22-Sep-2012 10:45:12 +0200]: IMAP Error: Login failed for ralf from 85.13.128.137(X-Forwarded-For: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx). AUTHENTICATE PLAIN: Authentication failed. in /www/htdocs/xxxxxxxx/program/include/rcube_imap.php on line 188 (POST /?_task=login&_action=login)

I thought it has something to do with the "alias" which i use on my hoster all-inkl.com (Germany).

because when i try to login with the all-inkl username (it´s look like this "m1689d545") -> Then it WORKS :/

Could anybody help me? Or explane what has changed since 0.8.1 and why?

Yes. The alias feature has been removed. If your aliases are email addresses it's possible to login as identity address )optional), otherwise you need to write a plugin which will map alias to real username.

OOH ok - Bummer!

Are that any security reasons for this decision or what was the reason for this step??

...write a plugin is not soo easy for me (i´m not a php geek) thats too bad for me because i´m not sure if my hoster allows me to login with the whole email address??
