Title: Mails not deleted on server
Post by: Regenbogen on February 03, 2007, 01:57:22 PM
:-[ I have installed the webmail as of today and searched for about 3 hours, how to define, that mails should be deleted on the server after receiving them with roundcube.

Am I doing something wrong, or is ist impossible.

QuoteRoundCube Webmail is a browser-based multilingual IMAP client with an application-like user interface.

By using IMAP your mails will reside on the server as long as you delete them! They are not "downloaded" or something like that. When reading email with your browser you just have a "view" on that mail (still on the server). And after deleting the mail on the server, it is gone! Forever!

(While working with an IMAP-capable local EMail-Client (Thunderbird, Evolution, Outlook(?)) you have a possibility to work "offline". Then your mails are downloaded to your computer, too. After deleting they are gone, again. But this "offline"-working is of course no option for a web browser).
